Linwood Barclay Month #4: Trust Your Eyes, A Tap On The Window

Trust Your Eyes by Linwood Barclay.

The book is centered around two brothers, Ray and Thomas Kilbride one who is a schizophrenic who is really map obsessed and rarely does he leave the confines of his room. He never actually steps out his room’s door but with some program called whirl360, he travels around the world and when he stumbles upon an image in a downtown New York window that looks like that of a woman who is being murdered, when Thomas tells his brothers Ray about this, they find out that they have stumbled upon some deadly conspiracy.

This books are a perfect good read for people that are into this genre of mystery novels. If you are also just starting out in this genre then this is the book. I honk that he way Linwood went about with the whole story was really entertaining and it really kept me at the edge of my seat which not many books can boast of doing. The way he handles the schizophrenic brother is really meticulous and never loses touch of the other brother, Ray who is taking care of Thomas. The fact that Linwood was able to create such an endearing story from the beginning where you just feel like theres something more coming even though you are just exposed to the two brothers. As things take a twist, so does the perfect blending of the whole book and I have to admit that this was me of the best books I have laid my hands on this year.

A Tap On The Window by Linwood Barclay.

Revolving around Cal Weaver who decides to give a girl, who taps on his car window when he stops at a red light, trying to hitch a ride on a rainy night, this turns out to be a really bad idea for him as there is a dead girl and the another is missing. being the main suspect in this case exposes a lot in the town from the bullying police force to the mayor who is strangely furtive as described in the book and not forgetting one family’s secret that is surprisingly shocking.

This book brings out the best of Linwood Barclay as a mystery novel writer that is just on another level. He makes the novel more real than you can imagine and how he weaves around the story is really entertaining and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It’s the sort of book that would make the best movie if it ever came to that. This book was so good that it kind of actually makes you want to read and read it again because it is just on another level. The way the story plays from just a ride from a good Samaritan to a murder suspect is what I found to be really on another scale as far as mystery novels are concerned. It’s no wonder even heavyweights like Stephen King still find time to read a Linwood Barclay novel.
